We lost one.

When death comes near us we look everywhere for answers for this seemingly senseless deed.

Our hearts heavy with sorrow, our thoughts full of memories and our humanity beset in anger.
What do we do when you are no longer there, who will it be that we laugh with, sing and dance, share with, live and love.
You are here and then you are gone.

To My brother Uyabongeka, I wish you strength dear child, your fears, sadness, confusion and pain have become my own. Look to God for answers, to your friends and family for comfort and inward for you too posses immense strength. Having known Thabo I know he is at a happy place, his is a good soul that I have no doubt has found the sanctuary of goodness.

The Grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.

I have approximate answers and possible beliefs and different degrees of certainty about different things, but I'm not absolutely sure of anything, and many things I don't know anything about, such as whether it means anything to ask why we're here, and what the question might mean. I might think about it a little bit, but if I can't figure it out, then I go on to something else. But I don't have to know an answer.... I don't feel frightened by not knowing things, by being lost in the mysterious universe without having any purpose, which is the way it really is, as far as I can tell, possibly. It doesn't frighten me.

"I long to accomplish a great and noble tasks, but it is my chief duty to accomplish humble tasks

as though they were great and noble.

The world is moved along,

not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker."

After Awhile

After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul
And you learn that love doesnt mean learning and company doesnt mean security
And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts and presents arent promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats With your head up and your eyes open With the grace of a woman Not the grief of a child.

And you learn to build your hope on today
As the future has a way of falling apart in mid-flight Because tomorrow's ground can be Too uncertain for plans
Yet each step taken in a new direction creates a path Toward the promise of a brighter dawn.
And you learn that even sunshine burns If you get too much
So you grow your own garden And you nourish your own soul Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers

And you learn that Love, True Love, Always has joys and sorrows Seems ever present, yet is never quite the same Becoming more than Love and less than Love So difficult to define.
And you learn that through it all You really can endure That you really are strong That you do have value And you learn and grow With every good-bye You learn.
